Hormann get Secured by Design accredited
The Hormann LPU 40 range of sectional doors has just achieved the 'Secured by Design' accreditation. The Hormann range of EPU40, LPU40 and LTH40 sectional garage doors have been tested and approved in Germany for some time with the TUV Nord 'Break in resistant guidelines for garage doors 11.2007'
This basically means they are very secure against attempted break ins using certain tools and a certain period of time. This certification was sufficient to enable Hormann to obtain the prestigous 'Secured by Design' accreditation here in the UK but only with certain specifications, normally the case for most building products with this certification.
Install any of the Hormann LPU, EPU and LTH40 doors with the brand new series 3 Bi Secure electric operator without a handle set and the door is considered a level 1 secured by design specification.
Any other electric operator whatsoever will not be considered.
The Promatic and Supramatic Bi Secur have a unique automatic physical steel latch system built in enabling mechanical locking of the door even in the event of using the electric operator during a power failure on manual override, and this is totally unique to Hormann. The LPU40 range of sectional doors are 42mm thick double skinned steel and PU foam filled making one of the strongest panels for any garage door. This strength also means this panel type is used on door up to nearly 8 metres wide!!
