Q:What sizes do sectional garage doors come in for the UK?
There are standard size doors which have been around for many years in the UK and for sectional garage doors strangely these are still mainly expressed in imperial sizes.
Examples would be a 7'6" x 7'0" as a most popular single size door or 14'6" x 7'0" for a double size and these are often available faster than other sizes.
You can get sectional steel garage doors in standard imperial sizes in the UK but also specify made to measure metric sizes for most popular brands like Teckentrup, Hormann, Seceuroglide and Novoferm.
The industry for years has aimed to keep stock or at least focus on the standard UK sizes which have always existed, but sectional doors are designed and best fitted BEHIND a brickwork opening and are often bought so customers can maiximise their drive through sizes as vehicles have become wider over the years.
You can get a sectional garage door in any szie between 2000mm wide up to 8000mm wide and from about 1800mm high up to 3000mm high but there are standard sizes which may well suit your needs and save a few pounds too.
