Q:What is the difference between the ThermoPro and TOP entrance doors?
In basic terms one range is produced from steel and the other from aluminium but it is a bit more complex in the details.
The Hormann Thermopro entrance doors are one of the highest quality doors in the UK at present, especially for the price.
The aluminium range generally called TOP are also doors of the highest quality in engineering and finishing terms but do come at a much higher price tag.
ThermoPro entrance doors are limited in designs, generally come in 3 standard sizes and also purpose made sizes and have a limited but superb range of colours and woodgrain finishes. The glazing shown for each design is standard and not changeable and the handles have a limited choice. However this still makes these doors the best you can buy for the money and very shortly there will be a ThermoPro Plus range where the door panel is 65mm rather than the standard 46mm to take the thermal insulation down to the magical 1.0 W(m2K) saving energy and ticking all the green card boxes.
Side lights and top transoms are also available and are all purpose made to suit with a choice of glazing options
The TOP aluminium range is a range of entrance doors made completely to order from the ground upwards.
Door panel thickness, frame size, shape and colour, glazing, locking, handles, internal and external colour finish and a whole range of top and side transoms can all be specified to suit whatever you require for a very individual front entrance door.
The range of designs is enormous with new doors due out this spring 2013, even a door 100mm thick with carbon fibre featuring heavily in the construction!
