Q:Are your timber side hinged doors made to order?
Generally the timber side hinged doors are made to order, yes. We do have some standard single width sizes on certain designs but in the main for the very best installation they are made to measure with no extra charge.
We offer 2 main types of timber side hinged garage door and matching side doors - One type is manufactured using a box section steel chassis into which the timber design is inserted and this also enables the use of a steel sub frame system for total ease of installation as the doors are pre hung in the sub frame ready for fixing directly to the structural opening. The other type is manufactured using traditional joinery methods with mortice and tenon timber jointing and a far more diverse range of styles and options.
All our timber garage doors are manufactured from either cedarwood, Idigbo or Oak in the main with cedarwood being the lightest and most stable of timbers with excellent resistance to our UK weather. We do not offer cheaper lower grade redwood or pine type side hinged doors as we have found them to have too short a life span when tested in the past.
We offer the entire package with our timber hinged doors, the furniture, the locking, the handle, the fixing sub frame and even a factory fully finish if required from a vast choice of colours.
