Q:What are the disadvantages of a sectional garage door?

Some common disadvantages also given include:

* They are more expensive than an up and over or roller door

* The tracking is too much to fit into my garage space

* I don't like having the door panels above my head when open

* I cannot use the garage space immediately above the opening.

* More complicated to install than other doors

These might be valid points for some people, but the advantages of a sectional door possibly outweight all these points anyway?

They are not always more expensive and are possibly the best value for money garage door available, given the high performance and specifications for a standard sectional door.

The tracking actually lifts up higher than the door and tends to be out the way and also puts the door panels higher up. Most people tend to think they are like a retractable one piece up and over door, but they are not and the doors ends up out the way and gives you a far higher drive through height than an up and over door.

The access to the space above your garage opening is only blocked when the door is open, you can still access when the door is closed.

Pound for pound we doubt you can get a higher performance door for the money most sectional doors cost and with the extra security, insulation and other features they are worth every penny in our view against almost all other doors. Most sectional garage doors have a 10 year guarantee and easily go on for many, many years afterwards as they are so well built and do not suffer from wear and tear like other doors..
