Q:How does a sectional garage door work?

A sectional door is a vertically rising, insulated door system using multiple hprizintally aligned panels which are made up of double skinned steel or timber panels, available up to 8000mm wide. (10m with industrial mechanism). The panels are joned together with steel hinges and the panels have roller sheels at either side which are set into C shaped steel channels which a vertical, but then curve near the top of the opening and go horizontally into the garage. The door panels are lifted by cables either side attached to the bottom panel and the cables get their pulling power from various spring balancing methods, varying from different manufacturers and also based on the door size too.

As seen in the animation below, most sectional garage doors will be fitted with an electric operator as this makes the whole door system super efficient and secure.
